Cafe Zeitreise in Jena

Fully cute cafe with nice service. Were there for coffee, coffee and cake were good. In the meantime, a beer garden has been dismantled where music is played live. We will go there more often.

We experienced a great concert by Janna in the Zeitreise café on Sunday, free entry and great Irish music from the vocal performance of Hanna and the virtuoso Jo. The two would have deserved a much larger audience, but unfortunately the advertising for them was not supported by Jena-Info.

A wonderful little café with exceptional charm, the decor, the atmosphere, the background music everything fits. We felt welcome and it was difficult to go again. The young man in the service was friendly and was happy to give us information about the location and the background of the same. The coffee was excellent and the cake delicious. It is a place we liked to linger. We will not be able to avoid further visits. 😉

Excellent place, good friendly service, excellent prices, super atmosphere, beautiful furniture, will definitely go thee when in the area. A must go and see.

A great idea to combine an auction house or an antique shop with a "timeless" cafe. The interior is lovingly furnished with historic furniture. No one thinks that the room used to be a Mitropa restaurant. There is breakfast, a cheap, daily changing lunch offer and of course coffee and homemade cakes. The evening offer is limited to a few days, but will certainly be expanded with increasing demand. By the way - the innkeeper has about 100 beers from all over the world ready for tasting. Go there too!

I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience. It feels like decades, if not longer, back. Not only something for the palate is offered here. 👍 A real eye candy. From the kitchen it smells like cake. I was also happy with a dog.

Cozy cafe decorated with many antiques, almost like in a living room. In any case, very charming. The prices are very pleasant. The cake is baked itself and tastes very good (the choices were, inter alia, raspberry mascarpone and black forest cherries). There are also delicious limos. Very pleasant and friendly was the service. Top.

Great cute eatery. The young man in the service was very helpful and polite. We will definitely be guests again. The breakfast is sufficient. Price performance is right. When it comes to the beer selection, I'm a little skeptical whether it's worth it for the purpose of expiration date. Depends on the sale. But hey you have to try something new. 👍

Great authentic place with its hundreds of beer types from all over the world. Everytime I visit this café, I really feel like I go to a “zeitreise”! Also, always great service from kindest people!

Update June 2019: still excellent. And now with beer garden and longer opening hours in the evening. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious coffee. Friendly staff. And the cakes are excellent. Especially worth mentioning are the 100 (!) Bottled beers from all over the world. Great recommendation for this (yet) insider tip.
